The above is the speed of my connection. I’m using an Earthlink Cable Modem via a WiFi router.
How fast is your connection and what is your provider? Cable? DSL? Dial-Up..gasp… Often telephone companies selling DSL services will say, “DSL always has high speed, cable is dependent upon how many people are using the internet via cable so they can’t guarantee you’re going to get high speeds.” Theoretically this is true since cable bandwidth is shared, but here on the Big Island we don’t have 40 story highrise buildings chock-full of people sharing the bandwidth pipe. So I’ve usually found cable to be pretty darn fast here.
Check it out here and report back in the comments.

What a difference, this is my test results today going through the San Francisco server.

*UPDATE* An even more funner (is that a word?) speed test, much more graphic is here at SpeedTest.
