Took a break on the way back to town where I decided to test a new lens I bought and I spotted these two flying back home to the Big Island Country Club. The Nene (don’t call them Nene Goose because that’s like saying ‘goose goose’) is the Hawaii state bird. You’ll usually find them at Big Island Country Club on the west side of the Big Island or at Volcanoes National Park on the east side. It isn’t too often that I see them flying, but when I have they tend to be in pairs.
